Berkeley Scientific Journal publishes materials only by UC Berkeley undergraduates or recent BA/BS recipients (within one year of graduation) from UC Berkeley.

In order to submit, you should
1) Make sure your paper follows the formatting guidelines outlined below. More detailed guidelines can be found on our eScholarship page.
Beginning of your paper:
A) Name(s) of author(s)
B) Research Sponsor (PI)
C) Major, Year, Department in which research is done
D) List of Keywords
A) Title of paper
B) Abstract (no more than 150 words)
D) Materials and Methods
H) References (in proper format: see below)
I) Acknowledgments (no more than 50 words and should include funding source)
A) Palatino or Times New Roman font, 12 point size
B) Double spaced, 8-14 pages (excluding figures)
C) Initial submission: PDF file that includes the manuscript and all figures, tables, and graphs.
D) If accepted: manuscript text in .doc/.docx. Each figure must be a separate high resolution image file (TIFF, JPEG). Tables/graphs can be included in manuscript text file or separate Microsoft Office or image file. Be sure to include correctly-numbered figure legends. (PDF format is NOT accepted for the final manuscript text, figures or tables/graphs.)
References should be listed at the end of the paper in the order they appear. When referring to them in your paper, simply put the reference number in the proper location and enclose it in parenthesis. Please do not put reference numbers in superscript.
